Every NHL team on tonight’s slate with its projected forward lines, defense pairs, first and second power-play units and starting goalie. Goalie status is checked against the league feed every three minutes, and if the feed names a different starter than the projection, that goalie is flagged right on the card.

Why lines matter in NHL DFS

Hockey scoring is shared. A goal pays the scorer and up to two assists, and the players on the ice together are the ones collecting them, which is why winning NHL lineups are built around players from the same forward line or power-play unit. The first power-play unit gets the most valuable minutes of the night, so a skater on PP1 carries more upside than his even-strength line suggests.

When lines change

Coaches shuffle lines at the morning skate and sometimes again in warmups. Search for a player to find his line fast, then build stacks in the BaconLab optimizer, which can require skaters from the same line or power-play unit. See how each stack rates in the NHL Bacon Station. FTA+ members can export every line to CSV. Not betting advice. 21 plus. Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER.
